Getting old is a mixed bag. The senior discount for a Grand Slam breakfast is a nice benefit. The aches and pains not so much. I do appreciate the perspective that mileage on the life odometer gives you. To be honest I learned so many of those lessons the hard way. Whenever I speak to young couples I encourage them to commit to one another and persevere through difficulties. A song titled Bless the Broken Road was made popular by Rascal Flatts and the lyrics describe how difficulties are often teaching moments for future blessings.
